My last name is pronounced “Noe”—like Joey but with an N.
I grew up in Michigan chasing a dream of pro golf, which earned me a scholarship at Xavier University. Along the way, I discovered my true calling wasn’t on the course, but in HR.
In my mid-20s, while working as a benefits consultant, I realized HR is the heartbeat of business transformation—because at its core, it’s all about people.
Nearly 20 years later, I’ve built a career in HR spanning multiple industries, company sizes, and roles. Those experiences shaped not only my expertise, but also my belief that people drive every great organization.
Today, I stay active in the HR community through SHRM, local chambers, and by running a small business with my wife. I currently chair the NKY Chamber HR100 Committee, serve on several chamber and SHRM committees, and host SpeakEasy HR, a podcast focused on HR and business. I’m also co-owner of The Christian Store in Ft. Mitchell.
Faith and family are the foundation of my life. I’m a proud dad to three teenage boys, and I truly value the time I get with them every day. I’m committed to growing personally and professionally while encouraging and uplifting those around me. Outside of HR, I’m passionate about golf, travel, college athletics, and exploring bourbon’s rich history.
This podcast is about making a real impact on HR and business professionals worldwide. The best leaders adapt, evolve, and embrace change—and that’s what HR is all about. Champions adjust.
Let’s navigate the ever-changing world of business and HR together! Tune in, engage, and be part of the conversation.

What you might not know is that 95% of bourbon is produced in Kentucky, a state renowned for both its horse racing and bourbon culture. Over the years, I’ve developed a strong appreciation for bourbon's rich history, which dates back to before Prohibition when it was often used for medicinal purposes.
The Noe family has a rich history in the bourbon industry.
Wedding Blend
In March 2023, I channeled that passion into a unique project: blending our own bourbon for our wedding. My wife and I created several blends, ultimately choosing hers to bottle for our wedding guests.
Freddie Noe (pictured above with me) proudly carries the title of eighth-generation distiller, continuing one of bourbon’s most iconic family legacies.
I’m still trying to figure out exactly how we’re related—but don’t we look alike? And just so you know, it’s pronounced Noe, like Joe.

The Noe name became part of the Beam bourbon family when Margaret Beam, daughter of Jim Beam, married into the Noe family. Their son, Frederick “Booker” Noe II, stepped into history in the early 1960s as the first Noe to serve as Master Distiller—marking the official beginning of the Noe family’s place in bourbon lore. Booker represented the sixth generation of Beam distillers, a line that began when Jacob Beam sold his first barrel of corn whiskey in 1795.
Since then, the Noe lineage has proudly carried the torch:
From Jacob Beam’s first barrel to Freddie Noe’s modern innovations, the Beam–Noe legacy proves that bourbon isn’t just a spirit—it’s a family story.
I had the pleasure of joining Java with Joe, the West Chester Liberty Chamber of Commerce podcast, with CEO Joe Hinson after becoming a member of the local chamber.
We had a great conversation about growing up in Michigan, playing college golf, my HR career, the impact of chambers, and my journey as a small business owner.
